Our Team at The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg

Our venerable hospital cat was born in 2000 and has been here longer than a lot of our employees! The early part of his life was riddled with severe skin issues and other maladies. His original owner became overwhelmed by his issues and they allowed us to assume his ownership. Since then, we have taken good care of Jerry through daily medication, annual trips to the veterinary ophthalmologist, and plenty of spoiling. He has returned the favor many times over by being our constant companion and reminder of what we can do to change the lives of our pets for the better.

MariaMaria Berger (with "Maggie")

Never one to miss an opportunity to visit with a client, Maria’s face is familiar to many of you. She has been with HVA since 2006, and brings years of experience as a Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Pharmaceutical Sales Rep to her skill set at the front desk. Maria enjoys answering clients’ questions and giving advice; sometimes even in Spanish or French!
When not in the office, Maria might be found traipsing through local woods and fields sustainably harvesting wild edibles and medicinals, or she might be found in the garden with her cat Maggie, or keeping buzzzzzy in her bee yard.

Heather has been with the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg since 2014. Before becoming part of our team, she graduated in 2011 from Vermont Technical College with a major in dairy farm management. Heather grew up on a dairy farm in Bristol with four siblings, her dogs Max (Bernese Mountain Dog) and Daisy (Yellow Lab), and many many cows! Heather decided to further pursue her passion for animals, along with people, and joined our reception crew at the front desk. When Heather is not working, she enjoys helping her husband with his maple sugaring business, and of course sampling the sweet syrup. You may also find her hiking, kayaking, baking, and just enjoying the sunny days of Vermont!

Meg lives in Shelburne and enjoys cuddling and playing with her golden retrievers Midas and Henry. As well as her two furry cats Snickelfritz and Mr.T. In addition to her love for animals, you will also find her kayaking in Lake Champlain, hiking with her dogs, dancing, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Ashlie Bodington (with "Turbo")

Outside of the workplace, Ashlie helps her boyfriend on his 1,000 acre pig farm (the largest in Vermont) in Addison. She also has a passion for demolition derby and won the 1st place title at the Addison County Field Days in 2015! One night a week, Ashlie bowls in a league which has been a family event since she was a little girl. But most of all, she loves to farm and to be around her family and friends.
