Choosing a new puppy  This is a nice starter guide of things that you should consider when you are thinking about getting a puppy.

HealthyPet.com  A great site from the American Animal Hospital Association.  It contains info about everything from dog breeds to pet insurance.

WebMD  Yes, WebMD now has a great pets section that contains pet health info written by reputable authors.

Pet Weight Loss  The Society for Pet Obesity Prevention has a very useful site.  Check out the weight loss tools if your pet is overweight.

American Heartworm Society   Everything you ever wanted to know about heartworm disease can be found here!

Behavior problems  Founded by Brian Kilcommons and Sharon Wilson, best-selling authors and recognized experts on animal training and behavior, this site is a terrific resource for advice on a variety of behavioral problems. If you want to learn more about feline housesoiling, barking dogs, aggression, or any other behavioral problem, check this one out!  

Veterinary Schools in the US  Thinking of applying to vet school?  This site is a great link to all of the websites of veterinary schools in the United States and a good source for getting organized for the application process.

USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service  The USDA maintains this website with information on a variety of animal health related topics, including the latest news on such things as Mad Cow Diseases, foot and mouth disease, and many other things.

Rainbow Bridge  Anyone who has ever lost a pet should visit this wonderful site. It is a terrific tribute to our lost family members. 

American Veterinary Medical Association  This site is a good starting point to learn more about a variety of topics, including feline injection-site sarcomas and the latest subjects in veterinary medicine. 

Vermont Veterinary Medical Association  Our state's veterinary organization, dedicated to fostering the special bond we have with animals.

ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center  This is the website of the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center. It includes a library, links to other sites, and phone numbers for the poison control center.

International Veterinary Acupuncture Society   An organization dedicated to excellence in veterinary acupuncture as an integral part of a pet's total veterinary health care.

American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture  A source for communication, continuing education, and support for Veterinary Acupuncturists in the United States.

Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine Resource Page  A directory of all that Cornell has to offer.  Specifically, the Resources for Pet Owners section contains very helpful information and videos about topics such as how to medicate your cat, a guide to having a pet with cancer, and an overview of diabetes in cats.

 Animal Behaviorist Dr. Myrna Milani  Dr. Milani is a veterarian in New Hampshire whose practice is limited to behavioral medicine.  Her site has good articles relating to animal behavior as well as info about arranging a consultation.

American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine  The organization that establishes training requirements, evaluates training programs, and certifies veterinarians like our own Dr. Ellen Foster in veterinary internal medicine.

North Country Animal League   An animal welfare and adoption center in Morrisville, Vermont.

Addison County Humane Society   The humane society shelter for Addison County, Vermont, located in Middlebury.

Chittenden County Humane Society  The humane society shelter for Chittenden County, Vermont, located in South Burlington.

House Rabbit Society  Info on all things rabbits, including diet, behavior, and husbandry.
